 Bill Pohlman
 - Bill Pohlman is a man of service and dedication. As a retiree and a seasoned CPA with Pohlman and Talmage CPA’s, he has spent years helping his clients manage their finances. But his passion for giving back extends far beyond the confines of his office. For the past five years, Bill has dedicated his time as a volunteer scorer for Miami Valley Golf Association.

Bill's love for golf has deep roots. He learned to play the game from his father and uncle, who imparted their wisdom and techniques during memorable afternoons spent on the fairways. Over the years, Bill has become a member of the prestigious NCR Country Club, where he plays frequently, honing his skills and relishing the camaraderie among fellow golf enthusiasts.

While Bill enjoys the competitive aspect of the sport, he sees golf as more than just a game. To him, it is a window into a person's true character. That's why he always makes a point of playing golf with his clients, as it provides him with valuable insights into their personalities and ethics. For his referral sources, it was an opportunity to gauge their integrity. Golf, in Bill's eyes, has a unique way of revealing one's true self during a round.

Bill has his fair share of golf accomplishments as well. In 2002 and 2003, he emerged as the winner in his flight's match play at Browns Run Country Club. In 2010 and 2012, Bill added more triumphs to his golfing journey by winning the prestigious Runner Cup at Browns Run Country Club.

Beyond golf, Bill finds fulfillment through various volunteer efforts. He chairs the Dean's Advisory Board at Wright State University, using his expertise to guide and support the institution's educational endeavors. At his church, he servs as an usher, warmly welcoming congregants and creating a sense of community. Additionally, Bill volunteers as a financial coach for the Kettering Physicians Network, providing valuable guidance to individuals navigating their financial paths.

Despite his busy schedule, Bill always finds time for his family and personal interests. He has been happily married to his spouse, Janis, for 34 years. Together, they have raised twin sons who have grown into successful individuals. With five grandchildren, Bill cherishes his role as a loving grandfather.

In his free time, Bill indulges in his love for reading, particularly historical and biographical works. He also tries to exercise regularly and loves to cook.

Thank you for being a dedicated Miami Valley Golf Volunteer!
