To be eligible for Miami Valley Golf Player of the Year honors, a golfer must meet the following criteria:
Open Player of the Year:
Point accrual is open to any eligible golfer.
Mid-Amateur Player of the Year:
Point accrual begins with the first event round played on or after a golfer’s 25th birthday.
Senior Player of the Year:
Point accrual begins with the first event round played on or after a golfer’s 50th birthday.
A golfer must reside in or regularly play within the Miami Valley region, which includes the following counties: Montgomery, Greene, Preble, Darke, Miami, Clark, Champaign, Mercer, Auglaize, Shelby, Logan, Butler, Warren, and Clinton.
Men’s (Open) Player of the Year:
Determined solely by points earned in non–Mid-Amateur and non-Senior events.
Mid-Amateur Player of the Year:
Determined by points earned in both Mid-Amateur and Open events.
Senior Player of the Year:
Determined by points earned across Open, Mid-Amateur, and Senior events.
Points are awarded based on gross score finishes. When a tie occurs, the points for the tied positions will be totaled and awarded equally to all tied players.
The Ohio Intra-State Matches are held biennially and rotate among the four Regional Golf Associations in the State of Ohio.
The Miami Valley Golf Intra-State Team will be selected based on the Mid Am Player of the Year and Senior Player of the Year points standings.
The top two (2) players in each of the following categories will be invited to represent Miami Valley Golf:
Committee Review
Due to the evolving nature of competitive golf and event participation, the Committee reserves the right to modify team selections, adjust point allocations for events, or add points for events not previously recognized events.
