Category:MVGA News, Overall News, Past News Austin Schoonmaker birdied three of the last four holes at Dayton Country Club this past Sunday afternoon to emerge from a four-day battle between two members of the Wright State University golf team with the Miami Valley Metropolitan Golf Championship.
The 21-year-old Schoonmaker, who is going into his senior year at WSU this fall, went into the final round with a four-stroke lead but got a strong challenge from Haney.

Second and the Final Round Groupings will be determined based on Tuesday's first round score within respective division of play.

Category:MVGA News, Overall News The weather was perfect and the golf was exceptional as the final round concluded in the Junior Metropolitan at Pipestone Golf Course. It took more than 36 holes to determine the winner in the boys 16-18 age group. Drake Dunaway outlasted Tyler Kuhnash and Nick Seitz to capture the crown on the first playoff hole. All three finished with 36 hole totals of 152. In the girls 16-18 group, Christine Hoy shot a 36 hole total of 157 to take the top honors.

For the second year in row, Seung Yul Noh was able to move on from Springfield, this time, claiming medalist honors. The second spot was claimed on the first playoff hole by local, Jesse Hutchins, who birdied the tenth hole to advance.

Highlights of the evening were the recognition of Harry Murray for his many years of service to our game, and the presentation of our Player of the Year awards.

With these additional revisions, handicaps will be revised once every two weeks and will eliminate the three week interval between revisions during the fall and spring. Those of you taking retreat to warmer climates will have the luxury of having your handicap updated during the off-season.
