Final Day of Mentors Matters 2009

            The weather was perfect for the last day of the year.  We had a great turnout with kids and mentors alike.  Today the format was different from what the kids were accustomed.  The kids were able to get out and play on Rollandia’s course for the first time this year.  They had a lot of fun while the mentors caddied for them.  A lot of good shots were hit with a few birdies even being made in the scramble format!

            After playing nine holes, the kids were treated to a cookout.  Hotdogs and hamburgers were served along with chips and cookies.  After lunch, the kids gave a presentation.  All of the kids expressed their gratitude towards the mentors and shared stories about how the mentors had made a difference in their lives.  The day ended with each kid getting a signed picture and frame with his or her mentor.
