103rd Metropolitan Championship - A Pathway to the U.S. Amateur

As we gear up for the 2025 season, the 103rd Miami Valley Metropolitan Championship promises to be one of the most significant events on the Miami Valley Golf calendar. Hosted at Windy Knoll Golf Club from July 24-27, this year’s championship carries even greater prestige, offering its champion and top finishers direct pathways to the pinnacle of amateur golf.

Exemptions on the Line

The winner of the 2025 Miami Valley Metropolitan Championship will earn an exemption into the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, California, on August 11-17, 2025.  This historic exemption provides the champion with a direct ticket to one of the most prestigious amateur golf championships in the world.  The 2025 Champion will also earn an exemption into the 2026 Ohio Amateur Championship.

Additionally, the top three finishers and ties will receive exemptions into Final Qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Amateur.  This gives competitors a significant advantage in their quest to compete at the national level, reinforcing the importance and competitive stature of the Miami Valley Metropolitan Championship.

USGA Exemption Events and Their Impact

The 103rd Metropolitan Championship is part of the larger network of USGA Exemption Events, which have been structured based on 2022-24 WAGR Power data.  These exemptions ensure that top-performing players in state and regional amateur events have a direct path to competing at the highest levels of the game.

Whether you're stepping onto the course to compete in our area's storied Amateur Championship—an event steeped in tradition since 1919—or playing a vital role as a dedicated volunteer, these pages are your go-to resource for everything you need.

To our competitors, we wish you the best of luck and hope your journey is filled with great shots, lasting memories and the true spirit of the game.  To our volunteers, your dedication is the heartbeat of this championship and we are profoundly grateful for your unwavering support in keeping this great tradition alive.
Sincerely,
