SYcamore Creek VERSUS ncr iN fINALS | August 4, 2018 |
After a full season of weekly matches between eight participating clubs the final, semi-final match was played yesterday between Piqua CC and Sycamore Creek CC.
The Match was very tight and it came down to the last match, but Sycamore Creek prevailed by a total of 6.5 to 5.5. The Final Matches to determine the winning club for the 2018 season will be played on Tuesday, August 14th at Moraine beginning at 2pm. SCOHY & Eubel LEAD in the Player of the Year Races |
Thanks to his top 10 finishes in both the Ohio Mid Am and US Amateur Sectional, his top 20 finish in the Ohio Am, and his sixth place finish in the Metropolitan this past weekend. Jeff Scohy tops the list in the Player of the Year Point Race.
Over in the Senior Division, Ron Eubel's strong play in the US Open Sectional and Qualifying for the US Senior Amateur last week has him sitting on top of the Player of the Year race for those over fifty. There are a number of events and qualifiers yet to be played, and many points to still be awarded before our Player of the Years can be determined and presented at our Annual Celebration Event.

The DDWGA Fall Classic, on Monday, August 20th and it's gets underway with a 9am Shotgun at Walnut Grove.
The event features, 18 Holes of 1 Net and 1 Gross Better Ball Play from four (4) person teams.
Teams consisting of four ladies representing the same club will be competing for an extra prize: a traveling trophy to be displayed at their club for the next year. The annual Low Net and Low Gross award will also be up for grabs for the Pin Winners that are in the field.

BURRITT DEFENDS AND PAXSON WINS |
Nick Paxson, a 23-year-old former University of Dayton golfer, won his second big golf event in a week last Sunday afternoon when he added the Miami Valley Metropolitan Championship to his resume. Paxson turned in a final round score of 65 and finished the 72-hole event at Sugar Valley Golf Club with an 8-under-par score of 276. Zach Crawford of Vandalia, who shot 72 Sunday, finished second with a score of 282.
For the second year in a row, University of Cincinnati Golfer, Bellbrook's Alyssa Burritt is the Champion Women's Golfer for the Miami Valley. Her steady impressive play of rounds of 71-70-73 provided her a seven shot margin of victory over University of Dayton's Ellie Cronin.
