For those of you somewhere warm, if you see something a little different when you post a score on the GHIN App beginning Monday, it won't be your mind playing tricks on you. The GHIN App is just one of the new features that roles out across the GHIN-WHS Network. The app should automatically refresh, but if not you can always download here.

oUR aREAS Last Ace of the Decade

All indications are the last Hole in One of the decade was made by Ron Rehling on December 27th as he aced the 143 yard, 3rd Hole at Meadowbrook @ Clayton GC. Ron has been playing the game for 55 years and this was his first one.

Let's hope his next one does not take so long!

The second to last ace came on the Day after Christmas when Jeff Kujawa, aced the 5th Hole on the Vintage Course at Yankee Trace.

We have definitely had some nice weather around the Holidays this year!

COLUMBUS GOLF COLLECTIBLES SHOW

This upcoming Friday and Saturday - Jan. 10-11, 2020

GHS_Photo An annual must for collectors and those interested in our games history. Attendees come from around the Midwest and throughout the country. Annually drawing some of the most prized collectibles and scores of hickory golf clubs.

The event is free to the public and appraisals are available for those who may have some special items from our games history.

The Event will be held at the Embassy Suites Hilton in Dublin. (Directions)

This week we have a few ladies playing in the Harder Hall Invitational in Sebring, FL, the event gets over on Sunday. You can view all scores here

Good Luck Ladies!

Long time resident and friend of Miami Valley Golf, Ray Louis, the accountant, not the football player. Retired a few years ago to the Hilton Head to be able to play more golf. And play more golf he has as Ray posted 582 rounds. That's an average of a little over 27 holes per day.

Wonder if he will play more in 2020?

Nominations Open for Dayton Area Hall of Fame

The Dayton Amateur Golf Hall of Fame began in 1978 when Vin Hilton, Bob Kepler, Bob Servis and Janet Shock Beardsley where the inaugural inductees. In the almost 42 years since that first induction, there have been an additional 65 people added to it's roster.

Nominations for the class of 2020 can be made either online or by downloading this PDF and sending it to the Dayton Golf Office. Nominations are due by July 1.

Subject #5: Exceptional Score Reduction

	OLD WAY: When a player submits two or more Tournament Scores (T-scores) within a 12-month period that are at least 3.0 strokes better than their Handicap Index, they are eligible for an automatic Handicap Index reduction.
	*NEW WAY:* When a player submits a score that produces a Score Differential of 7.0 strokes or more below their Handicap Index, they will be subject to an Exceptional Score Reduction. If the Score Differential is 7.0 to 9.9 strokes better, a -1.0 reduction will take place. If the Score Differential is 10.0+ strokes better, a -2.0 adjustment will take place.
	WHY: By considering all scores, a player’s Handicap Index will be more responsive to exceptional performances in competitive and recreational play. The adjustment is straight-forward and applied automatically.
