World Handicap System and GHIN Transition |
To say the roll out of the New USGA-GHIN Technology System to support the World Handicap System this past week went flawlessly would be incorrect. Bumps along the road are to be expected. I am happy to report that as of this time, 6:36am on Friday, 1/20/20 all appears to be in good order.
For those of you somewhere warm, attempting to post scores, look up handicaps and course ratings, we are sorry for your issues.
Thanks for your understanding and patience and please continue to share any issues you may come across.

Last Week we reported that Ron Rehling made the last hole in one of the decade, in the Miami Valley.
Well, he now shares the honor with Keith Ashburn, who made the ace on the same day at Homestead Golf Course on hole #7 which played around 110 yards. It was Keith first ace as well!
Why to go Keith!

WHS Change Summaries |
Subject #6: Playing Conditions Calculation (PCC) |
| OLD WAY: There is no calculation or adjustment to account for abnormal course or weather conditions. | NEW WAY: When abnormal course or weather conditions cause scores to be unusually high or low on a given day, a “Playing Conditions Calculation” (PCC) will adjust Score Differentials to better reflect a player’s actual performance. | WHY: Provides a mechanism to adjust the Score Differential when playing conditions for the day are abnormal. PCC will also be used to identify if the Course Rating of a golf course needs to be reviewed by the local Authorized Golf Association.
