SR & Mid Am Championship Info

The Miami Valley Mid Amateur and Senior Metropolitan Championship will get underway on Tuesday.  This 36 Hole Stroke Play Championship will be contested over the Donald Ross designed Springfield Country Club.  First Rd Tee Times range from 8am until 1:10pm.  Final Round Groupings will be determined based on Tuesday's first round score, with respect to each division of play.  

In the Senior Metropolitan Championship, Defending Champion, Pete Betzold will tee off in the final grouping at 1:10pm, he will be joined by three time champion, Dan DeVore and the 2013 Champion, Dave Larger.  Also in the Senior field are our 2006 Champion, Bob Eardly and our 2005 Champion, Doug Gage.  Dave Novotny, who is leading the way in our 2019 Senior Player of the Year Points race and our 2018 Senior Player of the Year Ron Eubel are also in the field as well as Chuck Parsons the 2006 Ohio Senior Amateur Champion. 

Over in the Mid Amateur Division, Pete Samborsky, our five-time Metropolitan Champion and last years Mid Amateur Champion is back to defend his title. Also in the Mid Amateur Field is 2014 Champion, Jeff Scohy. 

The Practice Range is a 6 minute cart ride from the 1st Tee. Please ensure you take this into account in your pre event routine.  Your cart will be identified with Time and Name.   
Please ensure you arrive at the 1st tee at least 5 minutes prior to your starting time, as with any championship, USGA Rule 5-3 is in effect.  
Scoring after play will be in the Clubhouse, Downstairs in the Men's Card Room outside the Men's Locker Room, PLEASE PROCEED THERE DIRECTLY after you complete play.  Scoring Signs will be in place for directional assistance.   
Volunteers will gather unofficial scores after holes 3, 7, 11 & 15  
A limited selection of food and beverages will be available in the downstairs grill after play on Tuesday (hot dogs, drinks and snacks) with a full complement of availability on Wednesday.  Forms of payment are ideally Cash and Credit Card.   
Please ensure you only have 14 clubs in your bag and you can ID your Golf Ball.

The One Ball Rule will not be in effect;  however you must hole out with the ball you played from the Tee unless the rules permit substitution or replacement.

Yardages & Tee Markers
Mid Am & Seniors Ages 50-64 will play from the WHITE MVGA Tournament Tee Markers. (Approx 6600 yards),  Ages 65-74 will play from the White Springfield CC Club Tee Markers. (Approx 6200 yards) and Ages 75 & Over will play from the Silver Springfield CC Club Tee Markers (Approx 5600 yards)  
To Win the Overall Senior Metropolitan

To be eligible for the overall Senior Metropolitan Title players in the older age divisions must play from the White MVGA Tee Markers (6600 yards).  If you play from the longer set of tees you will still be eligible for awards in your respective age division.
