Last Ace of the Decade ?

We almost never have local Hole in One's posted after the Middle of November, but with Mother Nature's Christmas Gift of Golf Weather, we had one when Steve Broach aced the #5th Hole on the Dales Course at Community the day after Christmas.

With the weather forecasted to be nice through Sunday, I wonder if Steve's ace will hold up as the last one of the decade?

Nominations Open for Dayton Area Hall of Fame

The Dayton Amateur Golf Hall of Fame began in 1978 when Vin Hilton, Bob Kepler, Bob Servis and Janet Shock Beardsley where the inaugural inductees. In the almost 42 years since that first induction, there have been an additional 65 people added to it's roster.

Nominations for the class of 2020 can be made either online or by downloading this PDF and sending it to the Dayton Golf Office. Nominations are due by July 1.

Columbus Golf Collectibles Show

Co-Founded in 1970 by 2001 Dayton Hall of Fame Member, Bob Kuntz

An annual must for collectors and those interested in our games history. Attendees come from around the Midwest and throughout the country, annually drawing some of the most prized collectibles and scores of hickory golf clubs.

The event is free to the public and appraisals are available for those who may have some special items from our games history.

Subject #4: Limit on Upward Movement of Handicap Index (Cap)

	OLD WAY: There is no restriction on the upward movement of a Handicap Index built into the calculation.
	*NEW WAY:* A “Soft Cap” and “Hard Cap” will be included within the Handicap Index calculation. The Soft Cap will slow upward movement by 50% if a 3.0 stroke increase takes place within a year. The Hard Cap will prevent upward movement beyond 5.0 strokes.
	WHY: There’s no limit on the amount by which a player’s Handicap Index can decrease, but the Soft Cap and Hard Cap will ensure that a temporary loss of form doesn’t cause a player’s Handicap Index to increase to a level inconsistent with their demonstrated ability.
