| Doug Hill |
| - Doug Hill is a dedicated Miami Valley Golf volunteer whose lifelong passion for the game began at just eight years old, when his father first had him caddy. That early introduction sparked a love for golf that has stayed with Doug ever since. Today, he is a familiar face to many Miami Valley Golf Clubs, where he usually plays and continues to stay deeply connected to the sport. Doug has two hole-in-ones—one on the 7th hole at Yankee Trace and another on the 5th hole at WGC, highlights in a long and enjoyable golfing journey.  Over the past 30 years, he has been fortunate to share the game with a close-knit group of friends, playing Wednesdays and Sundays on nearly every public course in the region. Their camaraderie has also taken them on roughly 20 golf trips to Myrtle Beach, with more recent annual trips to Las Vegas and Mesquite alongside his brother’s group. Originally from Toledo, Doug graduated from the University of Toledo and moved to the Dayton area in 1983 for his first pharmacist position. He went on to enjoy 42-year career as a pharmacist with Walgreens before retiring. Outside of golf, Doug enjoys reading and bowling. Family is central to Doug’s life. He has been married for 42 years and has two daughters, one of whom shares his love of golf. Volunteering with Miami Valley Golf has become one of Doug’s greatest joys. He describes spending time at MVG events as being “like walking in a park” and values the opportunity to walk and experience classic courses such as NCR, Moraine, and Springfield, with Scioto next on the horizon for the U.S. Senior Open. His first MVGA event was the 2022 U.S. Senior Women’s Open at NCR. Through volunteering and participating in Miami Valley Golf events, Doug has enjoyed playing courses he might not otherwise access and meeting people who share his deep passion for the game. |
