Volunteers are needed to assist with local High School Sectionals and Districts at the end of the Month. We need volunteers in scoring, spotting, officiating and starting. We have four events that we administer.

The 2021 Mid Amateur and Senior Metropolitan Championship will take place this Thursday and Friday at Troy Country Club.  Play will start at 8am each day with past Champions and Leaders going out after noon. 

The format of play is 36-holes of stroke-play.  Besides crowning the Mid Amateur and Senior Champion there will also be winners crowned in the 65-74 and 75 and older age divisions.

Past Senior Champions in the field at the time of this posting are Pete Betzold, Dan DeVore, Bob Eardley, Doug Gage and Skip Snow.  Past Mid Amateur Champions in the field are the defending Champion, Matt Dippold, Dan DeVore & Jeff Scohy.

The annual Miami Valley Team Invitational, founded in 1994 by David McSemek, as an event at the end of the season to determine who had the best playing club that year.

This year's invitational is taking place on September 23rd at The Country Club of the North.  Team to already commit are NCR, Dayton, CCN, Sycamore Creek, Sugar Valley and WPAFB.

The format of this year's invitational includes teams of 8 players from each club in this 27-hole event.  Play includes 9 holes of Best Ball, 9 holes of Alternate Shot, and 9 holes of  Singles.  At conclusion, the winner will be decided by the lowest aggregate score from all 3 competitions.

At the most resent invitational in 2019, it was NCR Country Club who was victorious, beating Country Club of the North by 10 strokes.

First contested in 1999 at the Medallion Club and hosted and founded by the Columbus District Golf Association as a way to bring our State's Amateur Associations together.  The Ohio Intrastate Challenge is now being contested for the 19th time.  This years challenge will take place on Wednesday, October 13th at Moraine Country Club.  The Intrastate challenge features six players from each association made up of two women mid ams, two men mid ams and two senior men who will play 18 holes of stroke play.  The team score will be determined by the best 5 of 6 scores.   

The last time the challenge was played was in 2019 at Findley Country Club (hosted by the Toledo District Golf Association) and the team from the Northern Ohio Golf Association won with a score of 371.

The CDGA has the most victories with eight, followed by this years host association, MVGA with five, then NOGA with three and the GCGA with two. 

Team Selections will be announced after the Sr and Mid Amateur Championships conclude!

The Wittenberg Tigers Men's Team opens their season this weekend in the Transylvania Collegiate Invitational at the Big Blue, University of Kentucky Golf Club against 20 other Schools.  For Scores The University of Dayton men's golf team opened the fall portion of its 2021-22 schedule yesterday at the EKU Intercollegiate. They played 36 holes yesterday and will complete the final 18 today.  They are competing  against 15 other teams at The University Club at Arlington For More The Wittenberg Ladies, Dayton Ladies and Wright State Men all start in the coming weeks. Best of Luck to All as they start their 2021-22 Golf Seasons !
