2026 DDWGA Classic
Riegel, Fulton, Hupp and Hart Win DDWGA Classic
Debbie Ahrns honored at Miami Valley Golf Club
Stephanie Riegel, Ginger Fulton, Sue Hupp and Michelle Hart captured the 2026 DDWGA Classic on Monday, October 19, leading a field of 16 teams and 63 golfers at Miami Valley Golf Club.
Originally postponed from August because of rain, the annual event found a beautiful fall day for its return, with temperatures in the high 60s and almost no breeze.
Teams competed over the 5,303-yard, par-71 course, combining one gross best-ball score and one net best-ball score on each hole for their team total.
Honoring Debbie Ahrns
The Classic also recognized Debbie Ahrns as the 2026 Contributor to Women’s Golf Honoree, celebrating her decades of work introducing young people to golf and creating opportunities for girls.
An educator and 23-year Minster High School girls’ golf coach, Ahrns has spent more than 30 years helping with the Junior Golf Camp at Arrowhead Golf Club. She also created Tiny Tees, introducing children ages 3–5 to golf fundamentals, safety and etiquette.
Her commitment continues through Girls on Course at Arrowhead, which welcomed 35 girls ranging from third grade through high school in its inaugural summer. The program helps participants develop confidence, leadership skills and friendships alongside their golf games.
Special thanks go to Miami Valley Golf Club, Clubhouse Manager Mike Placke, Golf Professional Rik Cramer, Course Superintendent Mark Riley and their teams for hosting the rescheduled Classic. Thank you also to everyone who participated for their flexibility and continued support of this annual tradition.
