Scohy and Cranmer Win |
In one of the tightest Senior Metropolitans on record, Curt Cranmer thanks to his 2 under par back side allowed him to capture the title by one over David Clancy and Michael Greenwood.
Over in the Mid Amateur Championship, it was Jeff Scohy also winning by just one lone shot over Brandon Judy.
In the Age Divisions, it was John Rodney who won the Ages 65-74 division with an even par two day total of 140 and Tom Lahaise winning again in the Ages 75 and older with two rounds of 149, bettering his age in both rounds.

VOLUNTEERS Needed for High School Golf |
Volunteers are needed to assist with local High School Sectionals and Districts at the end of the Month. We need volunteers in scoring, spotting, officiating and starting. We have four events that we administer.

DDWGA Last Event rescheduled for September 21 |

The DDWGA Fall Classic Event at Piqua Country Club was postponed due to the forecast of rain for much of the afternoon. It now has been rescheduled for Tuesday September 21st with a 1:00 pm starting time with the hopes that we have much more favorable weather. We have reopened registration for those that would like to join us for the event. For those who had planned on playing, your team is still entered so please let us know if there are any lineup changes or if you need to withdraw. As a reminder, the event format is 18 Holes of 1 Net and 1 Gross Better Ball Play from four (4) person team Deadline is this Tuesday *Teams consisting of four ladies representing the same club will be competing for an extra prize: a traveling trophy to be displayed at their club for the next year. Final Masters Event it next monday |
 The Final Masters Event of the 2021 Season is a Week from Monday at Country Club of the North.
This event is open to any Male Golfer over the Age of 50 with a Valid WHS Handicap Index issued by a Miami Valley Golf Club.

MVTI is September 23rd |
The annual Miami Valley Team Invitational, founded in 1994 by David McSemek, as an event at the end of the season to determine who had the best playing club that year.
This year's invitational is taking place on September 23rd at The Country Club of the North. Teams to already commit are CCN, Dayton, Moraine, NCR, Piqua, Prairie Trace, Sycamore Creek, Sugar Valley, Troy, Twin Base and Walnut Grove. The format of this year's invitational includes teams of 8 players from each club in this 27-hole event. Play includes 9 holes of Best Ball, 9 holes of Alternate Shot, and 9 holes of Singles. At conclusion, the winner will be decided by the lowest aggregate score from all 3 competitions. At the most resent invitational in 2019, it was NCR Country Club who was victorious, beating Country Club of the North by 10 strokes.

Ohio Intrastate at Moraine on October 13th |
First contested in 1999 at the Medallion Club and hosted and founded by the Columbus District Golf Association as a way to bring our State's Amateur Associations together. The Ohio Intrastate Challenge is now being contested for the 19th time. This years challenge will take place on Wednesday, October 13th at Moraine Country Club. The Intrastate challenge features six players from each association made up of two women mid ams, two men mid ams and two senior men who will play 18 holes of stroke play. The team score will be determined by the best 5 of 6 scores.
The last time the challenge was played was in 2019 at Findley Country Club (hosted by the Toledo District Golf Association) and the team from the Northern Ohio Golf Association won with a score of 371. The CDGA has the most victories with eight, followed by this years host association, MVGA with five, then NOGA with three and the GCGA with two. Team Selections will be announced after the Sr and Mid Amateur Championships conclude! For More Info

COLLEGE CORNER 
The Wittenberg University men's golf team opened their 2021 fall season at the Transylvania Fall Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky. The Wittenberg men's team earned a second-place finish amongst the field of 16. They return to action tomorrow at the Belterra Intercollegiate. For Scores
 The University of Dayton men's golf team opened its 2021-22 season with a second-place finish at the EKU Intercollegiate this past weekend. The two-day event was held at The University Club at Arlington and hosted by Eastern Kentucky. They next travel to Marshall on Monday for the Joe Feaganes Invitational. For More The Ladies Flyers Start their season under new head coach Ali Green this Monday as they head to Boardman, OH to play in the Youngstown State Roseann Schwartz Invitational!

The Wright State Raiders start their season this Monday as well when they also travel to the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational. |
