- Ben Cors, Jonathan Feldkamp, TJ Kreusch and Mitchell Sargent led the field with scores of 63 (-8) in the first round of the 103rd Metropolitan at Windy Knoll Golf Club. Sargent, a senior at Troy High School, began his round with a hole-in-one on the 152-yard hole 3. Cors, a University of Dayton graduate, had 9 birdies and played the par fours at 5-under par. Feldkamp, former coach at La Salle, carded 7 birdies and an eagle on hole 12. Kreusch, future freshman at the University of Dayton, also recorded 7 birdies and an eagle on hole 9. The four players all tied the competitive course record at Windy Knoll set by Andy Miller in 2005.

The hardest hole was the par three 13th with a scoring average of 3.59. There was only one birdie in the field on the 234-yard hole. The easiest hole was the par five 9th with a scoring average of 4.66 and 52 birdies in the field. The average score for the first round was 73.58.

Tee times begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. with the final group of Ben Cors, Mitchell Sargent, and Jonathan Feldkamp teeing off at 1:20 p.m. After tomorrow's round, the field will be cut down to 32 players and ties for the weekend. The 32nd position is currently at 1-under par.
