In stroke play, which one of the following is not the player’s ball in play?
Answer: C. Knowing the definition of In Play is a good starting point to answer this question correctly. In stroke play, a ball first becomes in play on a hole when the player makes a stroke at it from inside the teeing area. That ball remains in play until it is holed, except that it is no longer in play when: it is lifted from the course, when it is lost or out of bounds, or another ball has been substituted for it, even if not allowed by a Rule. Rule 6.1b(2) (Ball Must Be Played from Inside Teeing Area (Stroke Play)) clarifies that a ball played from outside the teeing area is not in play. Knowing the definition of In Play and Rule 6.1b(2), the answer must be C. |
