| The 31st Miami Valley Team Invitational |
- The 31st playing of the Miami Valley Team Invitational took place this past Thursday (9/11/25) at Springfield Country Club, and it was a memorable day of competition across all three formats.Format of PlayThe Invitational features three nine-hole matches:
This structure rewards both teamwork and individual play, testing every aspect of a squad’s depth. Early Lead After FourballThe opening Fourball round saw Dayton CC and Sycamore Creek CC edge ahead with a combined score of 101. They held a slim one-shot lead over the host, Springfield CC, and Walnut Grove CC, who both posted 102. Springfield’s Record-Setting Foursomes RoundThe Foursomes (Alternate Shot) round turned the leaderboard on its head. Springfield Country Club, playing on their home course, shocked the field by firing a record-setting 101 in the notoriously difficult alternate shot format. Their 203 total for the opening 18 holes set an Invitational record and gave them a commanding six-shot lead over NCR CC (210). NCR’s Singles ChargeWhile Springfield appeared to be in control, NCR CC mounted a furious comeback in the Singles matches. Their players delivered clutch performances, highlighted by scores of 33, 34, two 35s, and two 36s for a team total of 209 – not an Invitational record, but still an impressive seven-under-par tally. That strong closing surge carried NCR past Springfield, securing a three-shot victory and capping off a dramatic turnaround. Final Team Standings
