- The 101st Metropolitan Championship is almost here! Participants from across our area will be tested this week as the century old competition will be held at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio. This year’s field ranges in age from 17 to 75.

The format of play is a four-day 72-hole stoke play event with a cut after 36 holes to the top 32 and ties. New this year, World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) points will be awarded to our top finishers and the Ohio Golf Association will continue to exempt our champion, providing that he stays an amateur, into next year’s Ohio Amateur.

Previous Champions in the field at the time of this release are Bob Eardley, Five Time Champion, Pete Samborsky, Jeff Scohy and Defending Champion, Mikkel Mathiesen.
