She is a member of Sugar Valley Golf Club, and an active player with the Dayton Chapter of LPGA Amateurs, frequently enjoying rounds at Sugar Valley, Yankee Trace, and various other courses throughout the region. Janet has volunteered with Miami Valley Golf for about a year.

Though her father introduced her to golf in childhood, it wasn’t until about 25 years ago—when her two sons began learning the game—that Janet truly embraced the sport. Since then, golf has become an integral part of her life, offering challenge, fresh air, and shared moments with friends and family. She plays frequently in casual events with the Dayton District Women's Golf Association (DDWGA) and club competitions at Sugar Valley. In 2023 and 2024, she played over 100 rounds each year.

Janet retired in 2022 as General Manager of the Miami Conservancy District, capping a 27-year career focused on regional water resource protection. In retirement, she remains active in public service, volunteering with the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Support Center, where she works in the food pantry, and contributing to the National Association of Flood and Stormwater Agencies, judging their annual Excellence in Communication awards.

Janet is also involved in philanthropic golf events, including her work with the LPGA Amateur's Play for Pink tournament, which raises funds for breast cancer research.

Outside of golf, Janet enjoys yoga and hiking, continuing to stay active and engaged with the outdoors. She and her husband Mike, also an avid golfer, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have two adult sons—one in Los Angeles and one in Washington, D.C.—and a grandson who turns two in September.
