Alter Leads Southwest’s Team Title Pursuit as High School Season Concludes
Two individual state champions, two team runner-up finishes and a memorable conclusion to the high school season.

Twelve teams and 12 individual qualifiers represented the Southwest District at the 2026 OHSAA State Golf Championships, held October 11–13. The week produced two individual state champions, two team runner-up finishes and several noteworthy performances from golfers who advanced through Heatherwoode.
As expected, Alter’s boys made a strong run at another Division II championship. Alter opened with a 305 to lead by five strokes, then improved to 300 in the final round. River View, however, surged with a closing 290 to secure the title.
