In the Final Round of the Metropolitan

Scores were tight going into the final day of the championship, setting the stage for an exciting finale. Cameron Phillips and Logan Sutto started the round tied at 9-under-par with three players close behind at 7-under-par, leaving little room for error from the co-leaders.

Hollenbeck played steady golf all week, recording two eagles and 19 birdies for the tournament and minimizing big numbers to stay within the top 10 for the entire event. Hollenbeck closed out his final nine with a definitive 3-under-par to maintain his spot at the top of the leaderboard today.

Logan Sutto ended in solo second with a costly bogey on the 18th to narrowly miss a playoff for the championship title. Sutto was no stranger to birdies this week, posting 20 for the tournament and finishing at 11-under-par. Rylan Wotherspoon made his way back up the leaderboard today to finish in the top three with an impressive final round of 67. Wotherspoon placed solo third with a four-day total of 10-under-par.

Hollenbeck's victory earned him exemptions into the U.S. Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club on August 10-16 and the Ohio Amateur Championship at The Virtues Golf Club on July 20-24. The top three finishers all secured exemptions into final qualifying for the 2027 U.S. Amateur Championship.

A special thanks to Beavercreek Golf Club staff for their hospitality and support throughout championship week: Director of Operations Steve Klick, PGA, Superintendent Eric Conley, Head Professional Joe Moore, PGA, and Assistant Superintendent Spiro Stilianos.

Today's round was posted to the competitors' handicap records as a competition score.
