Foursomes note* — In Foursomes (Alternate Shot), one team member will tee off on the odd numbered holes, while the other team member will tee off on the even holes. In Foursomes competition, penalty strokes do not affect the order of play. | Special rule: No team member may play the same nine holes in all three (3) formats. | All formats of play are Stroke Play and the event is played as a Gross Competition. |
The best 3 of 4 scores per team in Four Ball and Foursomes, and the best 6 of the 8 Singles scores will be used. Each club team may have one Professional Golfer employed by or affiliated with the club's team for each format of play. Each team may substitute a player(s) or adjust team's roster anytime before each format of play. No Team Member Can Play the Same Nine Holes Three (3) Times The Miami Valley Team Invitational is open to all recognized Clubs residing within the Miami Valley Golf's Territory. If a tie exists with the defending champion club, they will maintain the title. If the tie is between non-defending clubs and both weather and light allow, a sudden victory Foursomes (Alternate Shot) playoff will occur. The playoff will consist of two (2) players from each tied club; each club will get to choose their players. If weather and/or light do not allow or the playoff cannot be completed before darkness, the 7th score from Singles of each tied team will be used to break the tie. If a tie still exists, the 8th score from Singles will be used, then the 4th score from Foursomes, then the 4th score from Four Ball. If a tie still exists, a coin toss will determine the winning club. Decisions on the playoff procedure shall be at the sole discretion of the Head Tournament Official and any MVG Tournament Committee Members that are present, and not involved with the playoff. |
