Are you Dropping the Ball Properly? |
Not much too it...Drop from Knee Height !
Why does it matter you say?! It matters, because your playing partners are required to say something and you may put them in a uncomfortable position. Not to mention the foundation of the rules of golf are built on personal integrity and our ability to follow them.
If you drop it improperly, and catch yourself before you play the ball, there is no penalty, just re-drop the proper way!
Procedure For Dropping the Ball Properly |
Are You posting Your scores ? |
With spring upon us, remember that we started the score posting season on March 15th. Not sure when to post a score? Well, these are the Reasons when NOT to post your score... - When you play fewer than 7 holes
- When you play by yourself
- When you play a majority of the holes not in accordance with the principles of the Rules of Golf, however if you play preferred lies (winter rules) those scores shall be posted
- When the length of the course is less than 3,000 yards for 18-holes
- When types or maximum number of clubs are less than 14, for example, in a competition that allows only irons
- When you play on a course with no USGA Course and Slope Rating
- When you play with non-conforming clubs or use non-conforming balls
- When artificial devices (as defined under Rule 14-3) are used during the execution of a stroke.
We hope this helps your understanding of when scores should be posted!
If you go to post your score and have a problem...It's likely you have not renewed for the 2019 season yet. Membership Portal
Not all of you need to worry about this as your club may manage this process for you. |
