Mike was a 1965 graduate of Chaminade High School, a 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University, and a 1974 graduate of the University of Dayton. His lifelong involvement in golf began while caddying at Moraine Country Club, which led to his attendance at Ohio State on a Western Golf Association Evans Foundation Scholarship. A dedicated volunteer and leader, Mike devoted many years to the Miami Valley Golf Association, where he served on the Board of Directors and later as President for six years. During his presidency, he was instrumental in strengthening the Course Rating Program and expanding the Tournament Volunteer Program. He also served the game nationally as a USGA Committeeman for eight years. Professionally, Mike was a longtime business owner in the Dayton community, following earlier experience with the NCR Corporation. Mike is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy (Saettel) O’Bryan, his son Ben (Karri) O’Bryan, and his daughter Libby (Brandon Pass) O’Bryan. |
