Preparing the Course
As many of our clubs prepare for member-guest, invitationals, championships, and other marquee events, course conditioning is often top of mind. A recent article from the USGA’s Championship Agronomy team highlights several lessons from national championship preparation that can be applied at facilities of any size. While most clubs don’t have the resources of a major championship venue, the principles of planning ahead, prioritizing agronomic fundamentals, aligning conditions with the event and players, and protecting long-term turf health are just as relevant for delivering a successful event experience.

Miami Valley Golf would like to recognize Paul Gooding, creator of the DogLeg golf app, and the players of the 3+ Club Challenge for their donation, which helps us support scholarships to the youth camps at Community Golf Course.

Congratulations to Paul Day and Chris Coleman who won the 2026 Member Guest at NCR Country Club. What makes this accomplishment notable is just not the size of the field but they are Scratch Golfers!
