Thursday, September 17, 2026  |  WGC Golf Course

Badin captured the OHSAA Southwest District Girls Division I Sectional Championship, leading a field of 12 teams and 64 golfers at WGC Golf Course.

OHSAA_D1_Girls_ImageWarm and muggy conditions gave way to thunderstorms during the afternoon, suspending play for 88 minutes from 1:50 to 3:18 p.m. Once competition resumed, Badin completed a team score of 327 to earn the championship. Lebanon finished second at 335, followed by Springboro at 337 and Kings at 378. All four teams advanced to the District Championship.

Lebanon senior Olivia Donovan delivered the day’s standout performance, opening with a 5-under-par 31 and finishing with a 3-under-par 68—even with a triple bogey on her card—to earn medalist honors.

Her younger sister, Lebanon freshman Madeline Donovan, completed a memorable family finish by placing second with a 76. Springboro senior Elise Dunkle followed with a 77, while Badin senior Taylor Zoz shot 79.

Carroll senior Michele Everhart led the four individual qualifiers advancing from non-qualifying teams with an 88. She was joined by Talawanda junior Charley Robinson at 90, Carroll freshman Madelynn Austria at 94 and Hamilton junior Emery Kuhlman at 95.

Up Next: The District Championship

The qualifying teams and individuals will advance to the Girls Division I District Championship on Tuesday, October 6. Grounds passes may be purchased through the OHSAA ticketing website.

Congratulations to all the advancing teams and individuals, and special thanks to the Goecke family, Golf Course Superintendent John Wynn and the entire WGC staff for hosting the championship.
