Did You Miss It?
Thanks to everyone who came out Thursday night for our Season Tee Off Party at Eudora Brewing Co. We filled the place and then some. The energy was great, and it was a strong way to kick off the season. We were able to raise some funds for Youth on Course, which makes the night even better. But just as important, it was a lot of fun being together. We’re already thinking about how to make it even better next year.

Steen Stumper
Pat is playing a short par 3 and their ball comes to rest 20 yards right of the green in the general area. Pat thought the ball flight looked very unusual and while walking to their ball, they are convinced the golf ball is cracked. When they get to their ball, Pat can see a slight mark on the bottom of the ball that would indicate a crack. After marking their ball, Pat lifts the ball and determines, in fact, the ball is not cracked. Before replacing the ball, Pat cleans off a small clump of mud on the opposite side of the ball where their thought it was cracked. They replace the ball in the correct way. Which of the following is correct?
  1. Pat gets a one-stroke penalty for lifting their ball in play.
  2. Pat gets a one-stroke penalty for cleaning their ball when not allowed.
  3. Pat gets the general penalty for cleaning their ball when not allowed.
  4. Pat has proceeded correctly, no penalty.
