Resources 
The following Think Tank Resources could be made available to the Purpose Built/ Phoenix Project in Dayton through the community revitalization efforts of the Dayton Phoenix Project. 
Americorps VISTA
Think Tank partners with the Corporation for National and Community Services to provide opportunities for individuals across the state of Ohio, and through select national partners, to serve their community as an AmeriCorps VISTA. VISTA members help local nonprofit organizations address compelling community issues by committing a year of service to build the organization’s capacity to address poverty in their local community.  Think Tank could reserve two or more full-time VISTA slots (as needed) to provide support to this project at a low cost ($7,900 for full-time VISTA).   For more information visit: Think Tank, Inc. Training
Think Tank offers training to equip organizations/ initiatives with mindsets and skills for working collaboratively on community issues across class lines.  Training could be offered for Fairview Staff and/or Community Partners. Trainings include: 
  • Cost of Poverty Experience: Think Tank, Inc. COPE Page
  • Break Dividing Walls (Poverty & Race in America)
  • Five Practices of Effective Poverty Alleviation
  • Collaborating for Community Impact
Local / National Networks

Think Tank has built a network of partners, collaborators, and customers across the region, state, and nation.  Relationships that could be leveraged to benefit this effort include:

  • Best Practice School Transformation:  Lindsay Unified School (CA- national best practice), Promise Neighborhood (Springfield, OH)
  • Youth & Faith-Based Organizations:: Urban Young Life, Miami Valley Leadership Association, Miami Valley Nonprofit Collaborative, CarePortal, Safe Families 
  •  Social Determinants of Health: Root Cause Coalition (National Association with resources for addressing social factors driving health outcomes) 

Community Advisory Team 
Think Tank could provide a representative to serve on the Dayton Phoenix Project’s Advisory Board. 
Change Leader Alliance 

The Change Leader Alliance works to provide access to platforms for emerging leaders with lived experience in poverty, addiction or incarceration to use their stories to inspire, educate and advocate for change. The Change Leader Alliance offers leadership training for emerging leaders with lived experience that are working to facilitate change in their neighborhoods and communities.  Resident leaders from the neighborhood surrounding Good Sam could participate in the Change Leader Academy, equipping them to be effective community leaders.
