| Wilke and Varner Both Under Par in Their Division Flights |
 - The second Masters event was hosted by Urbana Country Club on Monday, June 16, with a field of 71 competitors. The Dye course was designed by both P.B. and "Pink" Dye with a rich history.The warm morning quickly gave way to a short downpour, leaving some areas of standing water on the course for the first few holes. The cooler afternoon temperatures made for a pleasant and overcast back nine. Scott Wilke was medalist in the gross division, carding a two-under-par 70 with 5 birdies and a back nine score of 34. Wilke’s strong performance was the only score under par in the gross division. In the net division, John Varner had the low score, recording a five-under-par 67 to win by three. Three players in the field shot their age or better in the gross division: John Varner (74), Don Warren (78), and John Burkhardt (80). A special thanks to the Urbana Country Club members and staff for hosting the event. The generous hospitality of Superintendent Todd Sims, Head Professional Bill Unger, and Front of House Manager Maggie Pierce is greatly appreciated. The top finishers received merchandise credit in the golf shop which can be redeemed anytime before the end of October.
