US Women's Amateur Qualifier |
![]() - Walnut Grove Country Club will host one of the largest qualifiers in the country for the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship this Thursday, July 10. With 71 players competing for just four qualifying spots, the event is part of a 24-site national qualifying series for the championship, which will be held at Bandon Dunes from August 4–10. Play begins at 8:00 a.m. off Hole 1 and features top amateur talent from across the U.S. and beyond. Local players in the field include Kenna Jenkinson (Greenville), Taylor Dunkle and Morgan Rodgers (Springboro), Ally Turner (Miamisburg), Jenna Hayes (Dayton), and Leeann Harker (Centerville). The Walnut Grove qualifier has a strong history—producing two eventual champions in recent years: Jensen Castle in 2021 and Sophia Schubert in 2017, who both went on to win the prestigious Robert Cox Trophy, often regarded as the most beautiful trophy in golf. We’re still looking for a few more walking scorers and forecaddies—a great way to support the game, get in a good walk, and see elite amateur golf up close.
