- The DDWGA Twin Best Ball event was held on Monday, June 29, with a field of 72 players and winners in both gross and net divisions. It was a hot afternoon with temperatures reaching 90 later in the day. In the Gross Division, Tee Pazitney, Molly Horstman, Alee Martin and Amy Gillen won Flight 1 while Julie Smolin, Katie Blumhorst, Sara Mahoney and Lindsey Murray secured Flight 2. Renee Arana, Christine Gangaware, Amanda Haslit and Anissa Kanzari were victorious in Flight 3. In the Net Division, Ann Kneisly, Annette Clampitt, Carolyn Mindel and Patricia Clark captured Flight 1. Marie Greene, Kim McCrae, Linda Miller and Nicole Fox won Flight 2 and Vivan Bibler, Marianna Wright, Patty Hobson and Tina Delaet came out on top in Flight 3. The Closest to the Hole winners included Anissa Kanzari on hole 7, Marty Dale on hole 9, Julie Smolin on hole 14 and Cheryl Davis on hole 17. A special thanks to the members and staff at Piqua Country Club, including Head Golf Professional Wyatt Cowdrey, Assistant General Manager Kelsey Peters and Superintendent Matt Sherman. The Course Drawing and the 50/50 Raffle provided over $500 for the DDWGA scholarship fund. Each of the winners received Golf Shop credit that can be redeemed anytime before October 31 at Piqua Country Club.
