Brought On By Excessive Heat
day2_009-5KMost golfers don't often consider the time and effort that our turf crews put into our local golf facilities. In stressful conditions like we have been experiencing of late, our turf leaders must consider not only agronomic stresses, but those of our crews as well. These unsung heroes are seldom seen, but need to be appreciated even more during these especially trying conditions.

The USGA has a "Green Section" with articles that explain what is necessary to care for a golf course throughout all months of the year. One article discusses LDS (localized dry spots) which require constant maintenance and attention to improve conditions. These spots can begin to appear as early as May and in times of extreme heat.
