- Mike Walpole is a dedicated
golf enthusiast and a resident of Kettering, Ohio. With a deep-rooted passion
for the game, Mike has been an active volunteer with Miami Valley Golf for the
past decade, contributing his time as a scorer and assisting in various support
roles. His love for golf was sparked by his father and has been a significant
part of his life since high school. Mike's golfing prowess is
well-documented, with notable achievements including winning the 2009 Greene
Country Club Senior Club Champion and the 2023 Miami County Super Duper Senior
Champion, where he posted an impressive score of 151. Despite his extensive
experience, it took him 50 years of playing to achieve his first hole-in-one, a
testament to his perseverance and dedication to the sport. In addition to his golfing
achievements, Mike has had a distinguished career as a software engineer and
government contractor. Beyond his professional and golfing endeavors, Mike is
also a skilled pilot. He serves as a flight instructor, is an active member of
the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), and regularly participates in the
Cherokees to Oshkosh event. Recently, he earned his seaplane rating, adding
another accomplishment to his diverse skill set. Mike is also an accomplished
bowler, having rolled four perfect 300 games. He is married to Judy Norris, and
