- Has actively volunteered for Miami Valley Golf for many years and is planning to also volunteer at the upcoming High School Sectional and District Championships. He recently volunteered as a walking scorer at the Korn Ferry Championship in Columbus and the LPGA Queen City tournament at Kenwood CC. He also volunteers for St. Vincent DePaul.

For the past 15 years he has lived in Centerville on Yankee Trace Golf Course with his wife of 46 years, Mary. They both graduated from Carroll High school in 1972 and have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

He has been involved with golf since he was 12 years old. He caddied at Walnut Grove and Dayton Country Club as well as being a forecaddie at NCR on #5 at the 1969 PGA. He went on to play golf at Wright State for four years. In 1975 he won the Dayton City Match Play First Flight. In 1980, he won the Dayton Power and Light Club Championship.
