- Pete Betzold has won the 2023 Senior Player of the Year Award
for the second time having also won the award in 2019. The 55-year-old Butler County Resident accumulated
250 total points to outdistance the second-place finisher and current Senior Metropolitan
Champion, Andy Boedecker by 50 points.
Pete finished 2nd in the Senior Metropolitan, just one back
of Andy, but driving his point total to the first position, was his play in the
US Senior Amateur, where he was Medalist out of the Sectional Qualifier at
Western Hills in Cincinnati with a 67. At
the National Championship he qualified for Match Play, won a Match in the round
of 64 before losing in the round of 32 to James Sewell. Finishing in a Tie for 3rd place in the race was
Brian Bair and Dan DeVore. Pete will be presented his Award after the 2024 Spring
Better Ball at NCR CC on Monday, April 29th. |
