Scohy started the final round five shots behind Cincinnati St. Xavier's Michael Stagnaro, who shot the tournament’s only under-par round on day one. Scohy's opening round 73 placed him in the final group with the other top scorers. A long birdie putt on the first hole narrowly missed, the first of several close calls that would impact a tight leaderboard. Scohy bogeyed two of the next three holes, but as the weather turned rainy, he bounced back with two birdies—one coming after a near chip-in on the fifth hole, and another following a brilliant 160-yard shot on the sixth that stopped two feet from the cup. |
