 - Tony Auzenne has dedicated his time and expertise to Miami Valley Golf as a Rules Official, Scorer, and Player Assistant for the past five years. He's a familiar face at the Miami Shores golf course in Troy OH., where he is also a member. Tony's love of golf began in 1968 when a baseball coach introduced him to the game. However, it wasn't until he moved to Ohio in 1985 that he started playing regularly. It was here that he honed his skills, becoming a force to be reckoned with on the local golf scene.Over the years, Tony has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. In 2006, he claimed victory in the Troy City Senior Division. His prowess on the links is further demonstrated by his six-time win of the Troy Country Club Walker Cup in the two-man best ball format. He has also conquered the MVGA Masters three to four times in his age bracket. Though Tony has retired from his career at the United States Postal Service, his days are far from idle. He generously gives his time to Partners in Hope, where he assists the elderly with ridesharing services and is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City, where he actively participates in community activities. Tony's wife, Stella, has been by his side for 42 years. Tony hails from New Jersey, while Stella originally comes from Dayton. Fate brought them together at a small school in Kentucky called Union College. Despite his many commitments, Tony's heart truly belongs to golf. It leaves little room for other hobbies, but he wouldn't have it any other way. When he's not on the golf course, he can be found relaxing on the beaches of Venice, basking in the sun. Tony is an asset to the Miami Valley Golf community. Thanks for all that you do! |
