Following their successful revitalization of the former Sebastian Hills Golf Club in Xenia, which they reopened as Jasper Hills Golf Club in 2022 after its five-year closure, the Dodds have expanded their commitment to enhancing golf experiences and community engagement across the region. Their acquisition of Sugar Valley comes with a commitment to maintain it as a private club, ensuring exclusive access and a close-knit community feel for its members.

Founded in 1968, Sugar Valley Golf Club holds a distinguished legacy. Originally designed by renowned architect Geoffrey S. Cornish, the course has been enhanced multiple times over the decades, including a significant redesign in the 1980s by Ohio-based architects Jack Kidwell and Mike Hurdzan. Sugar Valley’s thoughtful design challenges golfers of all levels, featuring a par-71 layout stretching 6,467 yards with expansive greens, some exceeding 10,000 square feet.

Over recent years, the club has transformed, particularly following two devastating fires in 2014 that destroyed both the cart barn and clubhouse. In response, the club unveiled a state-of-the-art clubhouse in 2018, complete with modern amenities like golf simulators, a fitness room, and event spaces capable of hosting over 200 guests.
