- Roger Sorey, a Centerville resident, has been a volunteer with Miami Valley Golf for the past four years, serving variance roles. His love for the game runs deep, sparked early on through the influence of his father and grandfather. Today, Roger is a member of Sycamore Creek Country Club, where he not only plays frequently but was honored as SCCC 2024 Player of the Year.

Golf isn't Roger's only passion. When he’s not on the course, he also enjoys target shooting, another hobby that reflects his competitive spirit. His athletic background is both impressive and diverse — in his younger years, Roger played rugby at both Brown University and The Ohio State University and even raced motorcycles. Before his retirement, Roger built a distinguished career in law. He served as a prosecutor for Warren County and previously held roles as both a prosecutor and magistrate for Butler County.

One of Roger’s most memorable golfing accomplishments came recently when, at the age of 73, he bettered his age with a 72. 

Roger shares his love of golf and volunteering with his wife, Sara, who is also a frequent golfer and volunteer in the Miami Valley Golf community. Together, they exemplify a shared commitment to giving back to the game and enjoying all that it has to offer.
