Betse O'Keefe |
-Betse O'Keefe has been a dedicated volunteer with Miami Valley Golf for five years, bringing her passion for the game and love of community to the organization. A member of Sycamore Creek Country Club, her journey into golf began as a friendly push from her friends, who encouraged her to join the league. What started as a reluctant step quickly turned into a passion, and now she plays regularly—much to the delight of her husband, Doug, an accomplished golfer himself. Her dedication to the game was rewarded in 2024 when she made a hole-in-one on Hole 11 at Sycamore Creek, an unforgettable milestone in her golfing journey.![]() Before embracing retirement, Betse worked as an Administrative Assistant at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where she provided invaluable support. Even in retirement, she remains deeply engaged in volunteer work, particularly fostering dogs—combining her love for animals with her generous spirit. At home, she shares her days with her two beloved Shih Tzus, Piper and Maggie, who bring endless joy and companionship. Beyond golf and volunteering, Betse enjoys an active lifestyle filled with pickleball, crafts, and gardening. Her adventurous spirit, however, goes far beyond the fairways—she started skydiving at the age of 16 and has completed nearly 100 jumps. Family is at the heart of her life. She and Doug are proud parents to their daughter, Rachel, and her husband, Kevin. Their grandsons, Carson and Nolan, bring them great joy. Carson, a junior at Sycamore High School, is a talented baseball player and stands over six feet tall, while Nolan, a sophomore at St. Xavier High School, enjoys golf and tennis. Their shared love for sports has strengthened their bond, and she treasures every moment spent with them. Thanks for being a Volunteer! |
