- With a stellar second-round score of 63, Dhaivat Pandya and Mikkel Mathiesen captured the State 2-Man Best Ball Championship, held on September 9-10 at Rattlesnake Ridge Golf Club in Sunbury, OH.

On the 18th tee, Pandya and Mathiesen were one shot behind Austin Sipe and Kevin Grabeman, and tied with Bill Williamson and Alex Rodger. Their clutch birdie on the final hole, the only birdie in the last two groups, vaulted them into a tie for the lead. Meanwhile, Sipe and Grabeman faltered with a bogey on the tournament’s 3rd hardest hole for all divisions, and Williamson and Rodger were unable to convert their birdie chance.

Pandya and Mathiesen’s one-shot victory marks the first time in the tournament’s 16-year history that Dayton residents have taken home the title.

In the Senior Division, our 2015 Metropolitan Champion and three-time Senior Metropolitan Champion, Pete Betzold, along with Sycamore Creek’s Dave Clancy, claimed the Senior Title by four shots, finishing the two-round event at 14-under par.
