- This past Active Golf Season in the Miami Valley was one for the grinders, the explorers, and the score posters. When the rounds were tallied across our 261-day season, two names sat at the top: Gail Moore and Tom Condron. Each logged an amazing 175 eighteen-hole rounds, basically living on the course from spring through late fall. The tiebreaker came down to the small stuff—Gail added two nine-hole rounds along the way, giving her a slight edge in total rounds played, even though their 18-hole counts matched. You could feel Gail’s season everywhere she went: she posted scores at 11 different courses and stacked up 60 rounds under 80, a mix of consistency and curiosity that’s hard to beat. Tom’s season was a little more home-base focused, with most of his rounds coming on the courses at Wright-Patt, showing what steady reps on a familiar track can produce. Behind them, the depth was just as impressive. We had 52 players post more than 100 rounds, including familiar high-volume names like Mike Young, Rod Rusnak, and Gordan Willins, all continuing to set the pace year after year. Bottom line: whether you chased new courses, chased numbers, or chased scores, this season proved again that Miami Valley golf is built on people who simply love to play—again and again and again. |
