|- The season continues for a pair of Wright State golfers, as Tyler Goecke and Mikkel Mathiesen have both earned a trip to the 2023 NCAA Championship as individuals. Goecke and Mathiesen learned they were part of the field Wednesday afternoon as part of the live Selection Show on the Golf Channel.
Goecke is coming off winning the Horizon League individual championship title and his second straight Horizon League Golfer of the Year honor last week, while Mathiesen was an All-League First Team selection after finishing in a tie for fourth at the HL Championship, his second straight top five finish after he captured the HL individual title last spring.
Goecke and Mathiesen will head to Bath, Michigan and will play in the regional held at Eagle Eye Golf Club May 14 through 17th.
The pair are just the second and third Raider golfers to earn an appearance in the NCAA Championship as an individual, joining former Wright State standout Ryan Wenzler, who went to the 2016 NCAA Regional after winning the Horizon League's individual title.
