Score Posting Season Starts this Monday, March 15th
Why Monday and not a week ago? Well, even though the technology for posting scores continues to improve and the actual calculation takes playing conditions for the day into consideration. We still can't pick the date based on the forecast. So your association studies past weather records, reviews them with the other associations in our geographical area and decides on the posting season.
The last few years our active season has been March 15 to November 30 and this is the case in 2021 as well.

MVGA/GHIN Membership Period Ends Tomorrow
To correspond with the ending of the off season and the beginning of new golf season our MVGA/GHIN Membership 2020 season closes tomorrow and the 2021 season begins on Monday.
Just what does that mean?
If you play at a public facility or are a member of a non real estate club like "eClub" and have not already renewed for the upcoming season your account will automatically be placed in "Inactive Status".
To prevent this from occurring all you need to do is renew at the facility either online or in person.
If you are a member at a Private Facility the staff manages this for you so no action is needed.

One of the first tests we take golfers through during the TPI assessment is the Torso Rotation Test. This test looks at the golfer’s ability to rotate the upper body independently from the lower body, or dissociate. This is an important skill for properly sequencing the backswing and generating a good separation or coil. This is the “X-Factor”, creating the whip-like action in your swing and one of the key factors in power generation. For the test, start in a normal “five-iron posture” and then cross your arms across your chest. Without moving your lower body, rotate your upper body back and forth. The goal of the test is to rotate your shoulders/upper body to your backswing and to follow through without moving your lower body. Perform the test slowly and in a controlled manner. Many people think this is a very simple movement, but in fact it is actually a very complex movement to have the mobility and the coordination to separate the movements. If we have difficulty with this test then we need to figure out if it's a mobility or a stability problem, which we do through additional assessments.
