Steve Lambert

Steve Lambert, a beloved father and respected member of the golf community, passed away on February 27th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a dedicated member of the Southern Ohio PGA and the Golf Course Superintendents Association, known for his outstanding contributions to the local golf landscape.

Steve received many notable awards, including the 2000 SOPGA Bill Strausbaugh Award and the 2005 Golf Professional of the Year Award from the Southern Ohio PGA. He led the golf team that hosted the 2005 Senior Open at NCR CC, leaving an indelible mark on the history of golf in the Miami Valley. Steve also played an instrumental role in the development of several golf courses, including Shaker Run, Waldon Ponds, Yankee Trace, and Beavercreek.

Steve inspired many young people who aspired to become golf professionals and/or golf course superintendents, and his legacy will continue through the courses he helped to create. He was deeply devoted to the Southern Ohio PGA and requested that donations to the organization's junior and scholarship programs be made in his memory.

Steve Lambert will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, and his impact on the golf community and his love for his family will never be forgotten.
