Ever wonder how those scores get distributed on a Telecast or Websites?  Volunteers around the world complete this vital, timely mission thousands of time every year.  Miami Valley Golf requires volunteers to score at our championships and USGA Qualifiers.
Volunteer for the diana schwab Get a Girl Golfing
Each year the DDWGA puts on a clinic with the help of the First Tee of the Greater Miami Valley for Junior Girls.  The clinic is generally a half day session from 9am until noon.  Adults are needed to help mentor and ensure all the girls are looked after as they transition through stations of learning the different aspects of the game.
Course Preparation
Interested in preparing a course to host a championship? This committee supports the Associations by marking hole locations, hazards and teeing grounds in the days leading up to the event to ready the golf course for tournament play. There are 8 championships this sseason that require tournament preparation.
Officiating at Championships and USGA Qualifiers
Rules Officials are needed for our Associations’ summer tournaments. A committee of officials (up to 12 per tournament ) supports the Lead Official provided by the Association. Rules Officials are expected to have attended at least one USGA Rules of Golf Seminar.
In addition to Rules of Golf support, Association tournaments involve volunteers as spotters at each event, to assist with tournament flow and pace of play.
The First Tee of Greater Miami Valley
Become a volunteer coach at any of their affiliate sites or assist with registration and fundraising events throughout the chapter. The First Tee mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. **Golf knowledge and experience is NOT required to assist with the chapter - they will train you to meet the goals and needs of the program.
Course Rating
Are you a numbers person? Do you like golf and math? Well, if you do, then being a part of the Course Ratings Committee could be the perfect opportunity for you. Rating a course takes between four and six hours and once the rating is completed, the rating team typically plays the course that has just been rated. While it makes for a full day, it’s nice to spend a day in the great outdoors. Course raters are expected to be continual learners and attend an early spring educational seminar.
