Jessie Jordan of Urbana outlasted Sarah Kolodzik of Bellbrook to win the Dayton Women's Amateur Championship, Saturday June 21. After a four hour rain delay Friday afternoon, Jordan topped Lindsay Murray of Tipp City 4 and 3 on the cusp of nightfall. Saturday morning Jordan jumped ahead early and was five up on Kolodzik after 18 holes. After a short break, Kolodzik won holes 22, 25, and 26 leaving Jordan only two up. Jordan didn't back down wi nning holes 27, 29, and 31. Then on hole 32, Kolodzik and Jordan halved the hole to confirm Jordan's victory 5 and 4.Jamie Witt of Miamisburg defeated Cynthia Pratt 4 and 3 to win the First Flight. The First Flight Consolation bracket was won by Michelle McDermott of Bellbrook. |
