In case you missed this wonderful read we thought we would share what Jack Nicklaus just wrote this past Wednesday.
Dear 10-year-old Jack,
I know you love Dad. He’s your best friend, your mentor — your hero.
You do everything with him. He teaches you how to shoot a free throw, hit a curveball, throw a tight spiral. You’ve been going to Buckeye football games with him in Columbus since you were six, and guess what? You won’t miss one until you’re 20.

This is Players Championship weekend, during which a short, 137-yard par 3 will be the golf world’s center of attention. For its size, the island 17th green at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., packs an outsized punch late in the round. Players either hit the green or the water; there’s no layup or bailout.

|The LPGA Amateur Golf Association, Dayton Chapter (formally EWGA) will start the new golf season with their annual kickoff celebration at the Presidential Banquet Center on April 7th at 2 pm. LPGA Amateur Golf Association is a national golf association to help women learn to play golf, play better golf, have fun and make new friends. Our kickoff is open to all current members and any women interested in being a member. Whether you are a beginner golfer or an experienced golfer, LPGA Amateur Golf Association has something for you. Cost is $25 which includes heavy Hors D’oeuvres. There will be door prizes given. You will learn about all the opportunities that are available through LPGA Amateur Golf Association. The Grand Prize will be a $750 Gift Certificate to the Miami Valley Golf Shop of the winners choosing.
The drawing will be held in early December. Chances for wining the Grand Prize will increase based on the number of scores posted over their 2018 total.
To be eligible you must have posted at least 5 rounds in 2018.

The Lady Tigers are playing this weekend at the SVGU Spring Invitational in Lexington, KY at Kearney Hills.
The Men Tigers play next at the end of the Month.
The Lady Flyers finished 5th in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate that concluded yesterday.
On the backs of solid third round play by Domenic Maricocchi and Jake Gilkison, the Men Flyers fought back and finished in fourth place at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate that concluded last Sunday. The Flyers, led by Maricocchi and Gilkison, shot an impressive 293 (+9) on the day. Gilkison shot a team best 68 (-3) in the third round. Domenic Maricocchi finished the third round with a 70 (-1). The team finished the tournament with a score of 893 (+41).
The Men Flyers next Play in Mid April.
The Wright State Raiders are in action this weekend at the Bobby Nichols Invitational.

|On April 2nd, Troy Country Club will host a free training on the Tournament Management Software powered by Golf Genius. This web based golf event management software is available to all Courses and League Managers in the Miami Valley. The session will begin at 10am and will conclude at 2pm. Lunch will be included. PGA Professionals will receive MSR Credit for attending. |
Attendees are welcome and encouraged to bring their laptops or tablets and the education session will end with a Question and Answers Period.
