Two WSU Golfers LEAD AFTER 36 Holes

As the Metropolitan heads into the final two rounds this weekend, two players are tied for the lead. Bryce Haney and Austin Schoonmaker both WSU Golfers are at four under par followed closely by Jeff Scohy who is at three under par. However, don't count out the rest of the field who made the cut as there is still 36 Holes more to play over the Donald Ross Designed DCC.

Over in the ladies division, Alyssa Burritt looks to be making a strong run at her third consecutive championship as she holds a seven shot lead over Brittney Blaschak as they tee off in their final round today at 11:10am.

spend Sunday afternoon / Evening with us

Come out to Dayton Country Club, Sunday to watch the Leaders in the final round of the 100th Anniversary Amateur Championship. The final round will start teeing off at 11am with the leaders going at 12:50pm. The leaders should be finishing up by the clubhouse on #18 (Traditional #9) at approximately 5pm.

We look forward to seeing many of you then!

Families at the Metropolitan

Golf is a sport of many generations and also provides a way to ensure families spend some quality time together. One great example of that is Jake North and his caddie.

Jake has been playing in the Metropolitan every year since his early teens and as he approaches his 30th birthday moving his clubs around in each Metropolitan has been his mom.

SO.... a big thank you to all the parents out there who have done so many great things for us along the way.

Stats from the 1st Two Rounds of the Metropolitan

You don't need length to keep great players from going deep under par, just give them a course like Dayton CC where, green speeds along with challenging Hole Locations have kept the field close and close to par as the leaders are just four under par. Through the first two rounds the 8th Hole (Traditional #17) has played the hardest playing over a half shot over par.

US Amateur Qualifier at Moraine

The US Amateur Qualifier was held this past Monday at Moraine Country Club under less than idea conditions Austin Greaser & Henry Shimp qualified as they both posted 4 under par for the 36 Hole Qualifier. Good luck to them as they complete in the US Amateur Next Month in Pinehurst.

Miami Valley Golf Club will again welcome Hickory Shaft Golfers to help celebrate MVGC’s 100th Anniversary on Friday, August 16th, and Saturday, August 17th. Ladies and Men of all abilities are welcome, but play must be with Hickory Shafted Clubs. If you don't have clubs they will be available.
