Masters Start the Season at Walnut Grove |
After a year off due to COVID and a two week delay because of rain the Masters Events will resume when they visit Walnut Grove Country Club for their first event of the year this Monday, May, 24th. The event gets underway with a 1pm shotgun start followed by dinner. There is no lunch prior to the event.

 If you are interested in being a walking scorer, for the US Open Final Stage on Monday, June 7th at Springfield Country Club now is your last chance. If you have already register you don't need to register again but if not you can register at this link. DDWGA Shamble concludes |
The first Event of the DDWGA Season was held this past Monday, May 17 at Urbana Country Club. Despite the forecast and gloomy sky's the event was able to be completed after a one hour delay at the start.

DDWGA Scholars for 2021 |
First Awarded in 1996 the DDWGA Scholarship Awards have donated $54,200 to 67 deserving young women who have demonstrated a connection with the game of golf in the DDWGA Area. This year the two chosen Scholarship Recipients where Samantha Despain who just graduated from Northmont HS and Jayla Pothast who just completed here studies at Versailles HS. Samantha will be heading to Kentucky Wesleyan to study education and Jayla will be attending the University of Toledo and follow a Pre-Med/Biology path of study.

Proper Hydration on the Course |
It's finally starting to get warmer and we are seeing the temperatures jump up pretty quickly. These high temperatures can sneak up on us and it’s important to keep up on hydration, especially when playing a round of golf. In order for our bodies to function, we have to replenish its water stores. After all, the body is made up of 70% water!

The DDWGA this summer will be having Two Get a Girl Golfing Free Sessions on Monday, June 21 and Monday, June 28 at Community GC and then offer a four week session also at Community the following four weeks.

Gene Samborsky Passes |
 Western Hills CC's Golf Professional Emeritus, Gene Samborsky, passed away on May 15th after a short illness. Gene was 77 years old and leaves us after supporting our game and developing many talented golfers for over 50 years, among them his son, Peter & Grandson, Hayden. Community to Offer Junior Programming |

Open to Juniors Age 8 to 15, Community's Junior Golf Lessons will be a great way to introduce your Junior to a game of a lifetime. Open to both genders, these sessions will be held in two-week sessions Tuesday through Thursday beginning at 10am. Lessons will be led by the staff at Community Golf Course and Registration will be stewarded by the Miami Valley Golf Association. IS YOUR mvga/ghin membership inactive? |
 To correspond with the ending of the off season and the beginning of the new golf season our MVGA/GHIN Membership 2020 season closed on Sunday, March 14 and the 2021 season began on Monday, March 15. Just what does that mean? If you play at a public facility or are a member of a non real estate club like "eClub" and have not already renewed for the upcoming season your account was placed into an "Inactive Status". To change this status all you need to do is renew at the facility either online or in person. If you are a member at a Private Facility the staff manages this for you, therefore, no action is needed. TO RENEW |

College Corner |
 Dayton Flyers freshman, Henry May, concluded his season this week at the NCAA Noblesville Regional Tournament. May won the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship on May 2, 2021 as an individual which allowed him to advance to this week’s regional. May finished at +17 for the regional which landed him in 67th place. A conclusion to an outstanding season for the freshman. Texas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Louisville, and Alabama at Birmingham are the five teams out of Noblesville that are advancing to the National Championships, as well as Purdue’s Cole Bradley (Individual Medalist). Results can be reviewed here
Sophomore Standout and Centerville Native, Marissa Wenzler and her Lady Wildcats from Kentucky are currently teeing it up in the NCAA Women's national championship this week at Grayhawk Golf Club.
